Mega Church Pastor Creflo Dollar Is Arrested For Battery
Megachurch pastor Creflo Dollar has been arrested after authorities say he slightly hurt his 15-year-old daughter in a fight at his metro Atlanta home.
Fayette County Sheriff’s Office investigator Brent Rowan says deputies responded to a call of domestic violence at the home around 1 a.m. Friday.
Rowan says the 50-year-old pastor and his daughter were arguing over whether she could go to a party when Dollar “got physical” with her, leaving her with “superficial injuries.”
Dollar faces misdemeanor charges of simple battery and cruelty to children. He bonded out of Fayette County jail Friday morning. A phone number listed for him didn’t connect.
Dollar is the pastor for World Changers Church International in College Park. A spokeswoman for the church did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
This goes to show you that pastors are everyday, normal humans as well. I’ve criticized Creflo Dollar in the past because of how he lives his life way too lavishly despite many of his members living in poverty. I still stand by that belief, but I’m on his side in this case just based on the initial report. As a teenager I know, we get a little bit out of control at times and we think we’re grown when in reality we’re not. Your parents have been put in place to give you support and guidance and when you’re only 15 and still living in your parents house, you must obey the rules set in place.
Creflo probably didn’t do all that much but you know the police don’t understand that discipline of a child by beating is not child abuse and is definitely not battery. But we all know that once the 15 year old, who was mad she couldn’t go to a party, called the cops and said she got beat up, they imagined a situation where her life was in danger and they aren’t at fault for that assumption when you have a slick teenager who is a good liar.
Anyways, we’ll keep updated on this story.
