1. Justin Bieber‘s appearance with Floyd Mayweather last night was months in the making — and sources close to The Biebs tell TMZ … Justin feels his new “mentor” is really just “misunderstood.”
According to our sources, Mayweather asked Bieber four months ago to join him in Las Vegas for the Miguel Cotto fight … and Bieber, a huge boxing fan, jumped at the opportunity.
We’re told Floyd and Justin became friends after Floyd saw Justin’s movie, “Never Say Never,” and reached out to his camp. According to our sources, Floyd decided he wanted to mentor Justin and the two developed a relationship.
Our sources say Mayweather tried to impart his work ethic on Justin, basically telling him he could develop the same level of “greatness” Floyd achieved … if he worked as hard as Floyd did.
We’re told the two hit it off and Justin tells people he thinks Floyd is just misunderstood … and that he is a really a “hard-working and clean-cut guy.”

(IDK if I agree with this relationship progressing. Is Floyd misunderstood or does he never take responsibility for his actions? I think this relationship kindling is like me going up to a random thug and making him my mentor saying that people don’t get him. I’m not a big Floyd fan as you can tell and if I’m one of Justin’s people, I’d get him as far away from “The Money Team” as possible. But that’s just me! – J.K.)
“So hard finding a name that was fun somewhat playful and available. So for now it will be @justdemi It could grow on me!” She posted to her page.
Friday morning she officially dumped @mrskutcher in favor of @justdemi and thanked fans for helping her find a new moniker. Shortly before the change, as she was nearing the five million follower mark, she announced that once she hit the milestone she would have chosen a new name for fans to use to find her on the social networking site.

(I guess the new way of finally making peace with a break up in a relationship is by changing your FB and Twitter names. When it comes to Twitter, I feel as though you should be branded to solely promote yourself because even if you are married, you never know what can happen. Plus, just because your Twitter name symbolizes the love you have for someone doesn’t necessarily mean that behind closed doors the love is real. – J.K.)
3. Being the boss’ boy-toy certainly has its perks.
At a press conference Monday to announce her upcoming world tour with Enrique Iglesias and Wisin Y Yandel, Jennifer Lopez, 42, announced her boyfriend of six months Casper Smart will play an integral role in putting the show together.
“I’m working with [choreographer] Jamie King, and also Casper Smart,” the superstar said. “It’s going to be an amazing, amazing show.”

(Shoutout to Casper the ghost getting retribution for all of the golddiggers of the world on behalf of depressed and broke sugar daddies, lol. There’s no doubt Mr. Smart is a great dancer, I mean I think we all saw J.Lo’s “Dance Again” video but is he really qualified? Honestly? C’mon J.Lo, have you not learned the simple lesson: “Don’t mix business with pleasure” – J.K.)
4. Hulk, smash.
That’s what Captain America tells the Incredible Hulk to do in “The Avengers,” and that’s what the Marvel Comics superhero mash-up did at the box office, smashing the domestic revenue record with a $200.3 million debut.
It’s by far the biggest opening ever, shooting past the previous record of $169.2 million for the debut of last year’s “Harry Potter” finale.
“The Avengers” added $151.5 million overseas over the weekend to bring its total to $441.5 million since it began opening internationally a week earlier.
That raised the film’s worldwide haul to $641.8 million in barely a week and a half, more than its Marvel superhero forerunners “Iron Man,” “Iron Man 2,” “Thor” and “Captain America” took in during their entire runs.

(Captain America and Iron Man were amazing! But I’m not really feeling this movie like that even though it mixes up some of the greatest superheroes of all time. They released this at the wrong time when one of your target audiences, college students, are busy worrying about taking exams! – J.K.)
5. When the Beastie Boys were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame just weeks ago, the New York trio was down a man.
Michael “Mike D” Diamond and Adam “Ad-Rock” Horovitz took the stage with a letter from their missing band mate: Adam “MCA” Yauch, who was too ill to attend. He was suffering from a cancerous salivary gland first diagnosed in 2009.
In the letter, which Horovitz read, Yauch dedicated the honor to his fellow B-Boys, “who have walked the globe with me.”
“To anyone who has been touched by our band, who our music has meant something to, this induction is as much ours as it is yours,” said Yauch.
