1. Rihanna is making her TV debut producing and appearing in a new fashion project for Sky Living later this year. The singer and style queen will take the role of executive producer, working mostly behind the scenes, but will appear occasionally in the 10-part series that will be hosted by Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts.
The multiple Grammy award winner will help shape the show that will search Britain for the next generation of raw fashion talent who will be challenged with creating outfits for a string of musicians and celebrities during the course of the series. The winner will design an outfit for Rihanna to wear when she performs at the Wireless Festival in London in July.
2. During the Super Bowl XLV halftime show last February, Will.i.am and the rest of the Black Eyed Peas brought out special guests like Usher and Slash to pump up their pop anthems. One year later, Will.i.am has taken it upon himself to reveal one of the performers expected to spice up Madonna’s upcoming halftime extravaganza: those lovable party rockers, LMFAO.
Speaking to Capital FM about Madge’s halftime show, Will.i.am says, “I’m going to the Super Bowl this year to see my group LMFAO perform with Madonna.” LMFAO, who scored a pair of Hot 100 chart-toppers last year with “Party Rock Anthem” and “Sexy and I Know It,” are signed to Will.i.am Music Group through Cherrytree/Interscope.
The Peas star continued, “Check that out, Will.i.am Music Group is pretty freaking two for two…. One year the Super Bowl, the next year another group part of the Super Bowl in collaboration with Madonna. That’s still happening.”
3. The “Wheel of Fortune” wasn’t the only thing spinning for Pat Sajak and Vanna White back in the day.
Sajak said in an interview on ESPN2 this week that the long-time game show team would occasionally walk over to a restaurant for “two or three or six” margaritas during a break in taping early “Wheel of Fortune” shows in California. Sajak has hosted the show since 1981; White joined him a year later.
Sajak recalled the margarita stops after answering “yes” to a question about whether he had ever hosted the show “a little bit drunk.”
Although he joked that he had “trouble recognizing the alphabet” for shows taped after the drinks, no one ever said anything to them.
Now that he’s older, Sajak said he couldn’t do that anymore.
4. Demi Moore’s friend called paramedics Monday night after the actress inhaled a dangerous amount of nitrous oxide … TMZ has learned.
Sources tell TMZ … one of Demi’s friends who was at her home told emergency workers Demi was doing whip-its. A whip-it is a street name for a type of nitrous oxide inhalant.
The friend said she became upset when Demi had a reaction to a whip-it and lapsed into semi-consciousness.
It appears Demi had symptoms of a seizure — after inhaling the nitrous.
A whip-it is not a common drug among people of Demi’s age and social status. It’s typically used by younger people who are looking for a cheap thrill.
