DICK CLARK’S NEW YEAR’S ROCKIN’ EVE 2012 WITH RYAN SEACREST

Hosts: Ryan Seacrest, Jenny McCarthy, Dick Clark; Fergie in LA

Musical Performances: Lady GaGa, Justin Bieber, Pitbull, Hot Chelle Rae perform in Times Square while Taio Cruz, Nicki Minaj, Florence + The Machine, LMFAO, Gym Class Heroes, Blink 182, One Republic, The Band Perry, will.i.am and Christina Perry perfom in Hollywood.

Time: 8-11pm, 11:30-2am on ABC Television Network

Why Should You Watch? This could be Seacrest’s last New Year’s show with rumors surfacing that he might be moving to NBC + it’s the 40th anniversary of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Celebrations which ironically began on NBC before moving to ABC.

NBC’S NEW YEARS EVE WITH CARSON DALY

Hosts: Carson Daly, Amy Robach, JB Smoove

Musical Performances: Drake, Blake Shelton, Megan Hilty of NBC’s version of “Glee” premiering in 2012 called “Smash”, Cee Lo Green, Tony Bennett, The Roots

Time: 10-11pm, 11:30pm-12:30am on NBC Television Network and E! Entertainment Television

Why Should You Watch? Drake is in the building plus you can get ready for “The Voice” which is premiering in February by hearing performances from 2 of their judges

AMERICAN COUNTRY NEW YEAR’S EVE LIVE

Hosts: Rodney Carrington, Rick Harrison and Austin Russell of “Pawn Stars”

Musical Performances: Lauren Alania (finalist on last season’s “Idol”), Eli Young Band, Toby Keith, Blake Shelton (recorded), Rodney Atkins

MTV’S NYE IN NYC 2012

Why Should You Watch? Because MTV is unpredictable on NYE, just last year they put Snooki in a ball at the Jersey Shore to ring in the new year

CNN NEW YEARS EVE 2012

Musical Performances: Kathy’s comedy? (If that counts)

Time: 11:00pm-1am on CNN

Why Should You Watch? Kathy Griffin plans to get Anderson Cooper fired by forcing him to cuss. Will it be successful?

COLDPLAY’S NEW YEARS EVE: AN AUSTIN CITY LIMITS SPECIAL

Musical Performances: Coldplay performs songs from their new album in a concert taped in September

Why Should You Watch? Because you gotta viva la vida and for the first time there might be something interesting on PBS that I would consider watching, if only it were live.

ALL AMERICAN NEW YEARS EVE

Hosts: Bill Hemmer and Megyn Kelly

Musical Performances: Big and Rich, Trace Adkins

Time: 11pm-12:30am on FOX News Channel

Why Should You Watch? Actually, you shouldn’t LOL. Syke, JK. Hemmer and Kelly used to co-anchor a show together before Kelly got her own show, so this is their yearly reunion.

FELIZ 2012!

Musical Performances: Muchos diferentes

Time: 9:55pm-3:15am on Univision

Why Should You Watch? If you’re taking Spanish, it’s good practice for class plus it’s the only NYE show that counts down to the new year LIVE from east coast to west coast and includes Latin American countries. Plus it’s Don Fransisco, the Spanish Regis.
